  • Over 250 volunteers come together to support the participants on their OneDay journey to conquer cancer as they walk 25km or ride 60km or 100km.

VOLUNTEER

As part of the start team, you will be the welcoming face of The OneDay and greeting participants to start off their experience. It will be an early morning start, so it is important to amp them up for the big day. This role involves marshalling participants on arrival to the event site and directing Riders and Walkers to the appropriate starting group.

VOLUNTEER

We will be providing a service to participants who wish to have their belongings cloaked. Volunteers will assist in storing participants' clothing during the event and return participants' baggage after the event.

VOLUNTEER

As part of the registration team, volunteers will assist participants picking up their registration kits by identifying participants on a checklist and distributing their participant identifications. Depending on your shift availability, this role could be pre-event or during the early morning of the day of the event. We will brief you to answer any queries the participants may have in regards to the event.

VOLUNTEER

Volunteers at our pit stops will cheer and greet participants as they stop to rehydrate at the 25km, 50km and 75km mark of the route. They help distribute snacks to Riders, provide assistance in refilling water bottles, offer sunscreen for sun protection and clear up the station after the event.

You will be responsible for assisting with the set-up, pack up and operations of the refreshment station.

VOLUNTEER

Volunteers at our walk pit stops will cheer and greet participants as they stop to rehydrate at the 6km, 12km, 17km and 20km mark of the route. They help distribute snacks to Walkers, provide assistance in refilling water bottles, offer sunscreen for sun protection and clear up the station after the event.

You will be responsible for assisting with the set-up, pack up and operations of the refreshment station.

VOLUNTEER

Course Marshals are crucial to the operations of the event, as they are positioned strategically along the ride and walk event route and ensure the participants feel safe and supported on the course. It is a fun and interactive position where volunteers ensure Riders and Walkers stay on the course by guiding them if necessary. They also provide a point of contact and information for motorists and members of the public entering the event course.

You will be exposed to the weather so make sure you prepare for rain and sunlight with proper sun protection and hydration.

VOLUNTEER

This team is a group of event support vehicles that will provide assistance to participants if needed and motivate the participants along the route with music and decorations. Volunteers are encouraged to provide their own vehicles (preferably an SUV or Mini-Van).

VOLUNTEER

Want a sneak peak of the amazing routes? In teams of 2-3, you get to mark the route with directional signage, making sure the route is visibly marked for all our participants.

VOLUNTEER

Our volunteer bus liaisons works closely with staff, participants and the bus driver. They act as navigators and communications assistants to transport volunteers as well as injured Walkers and Riders to specific locations.

VOLUNTEER

Motorcycle Safety Marshals work with Road Dispatch and local law enforcement to guarantee safe passage for our participants on the route. They are positioned strategically along the route and assist at difficult intersections.

  • Do you have a valid motorcycle licence and a registered motorcycle?
  • Are you able to think clearly, act responsibly and respond quickly to changing conditions?
VOLUNTEER

Massage therapists will provide much appreciated healing hands to relieve participants' tired and aching muscles at the finish line.

Is this role right for you?

  • Do you have experience in sport massage with at least 200 hours of experience?
  • Do you have proof of certification or student status?
VOLUNTEER

Act as on-route Tech support for Riders. They will also work with our Wrench Support at Pit Stops to manage repairs and maintenance of bikes. The Bike Tech team is mobile at all times in vehicles and on bikes. You should have experience in bicycle repair and feel comfortable riding long distances.
