- Over 250 volunteers come together to support the participants on their OneDay journey to conquer cancer as they walk 25km or ride 100km course.

Event Site - Setup Squad
Works closely with the logistics team to set up the event site on the day prior to the event.

Event Site - Start Squad
As part of the start team, you will be the welcoming face of the OneDay event and will be greeting participants to start off their experience. It will be an early morning start so it is important to amp them up for the big day. This role involves marshalling participants on arrival to the event site and directing riders and walkers to the appropriate starting group.

Event Site - Cloak Room
We will be providing a service to participants who wish to have their belongings cloaked and the volunteers will assist in storing participants clothing during the course of the event and return participant baggage after the event.
Event Site - Registration Team
As part of the registration team, volunteers will assist participants picking up their registration kits by identifying participants on a checklist and distributing their participant identifications. This role could be pre-event or during the early morning of the day of the event depending on your shift availability. We will brief you to answer any queries the participants may have in regards to the event.

Event Site - Finish Squad
Volunteers will share the participants glory as the participants complete a personal challenge and finish the event. You will be right in the action where you will greet and congratulate participants and direct them to the recovery area. Volunteers will also assist with the pack up and clean-up of the event, including the removal of rubbish, signage and decorations.

On Route - Ride Pit Stop Team
Volunteers at our pit stops will cheer and greet participants as they stop to rehydrate at the 25km, 50km and 75km mark of the route. They will distribute snacks to riders, provide assistance in refilling water bottles, offer sunscreen for sun protection and clearing up the station after the event.Volunteers at our pit stops will cheer and greet participants as they stop to rehydrate at the 25km, 50km and 75km mark of the route. On Route - Walk Pit Stop Team
Volunteers at our walk pit stops will cheer and greet participants as they stop to rehydrate at the 6km, 12km and 18km mark of the route. On Route - Course Marshall
Course Marshalls are crucial to the operations of the event as they are positioned strategically along the ride and walk event route and ensure the participants feel safe and supported on the course. It is a fun and interactive position where you ensure riders and walkers stay on the course by guiding them if necessary. They also provide a point of contact and information for motorists and members of the public entering the event course.
You will be exposed to the weather so make sure you prepare for rain and sunlight with proper sun protection and hydration is a must.

On Route - Sweep Team
Sweep vehicle drivers will provide assistance to participants who require transport and provide ‘on route’ updates of participant’s progress.
In case of an emergency, participants will contact the emergency hotline number and event control will organise a sweep vehicle driver to take them to seek medical attention at the next pit stop or the finish location. Specialty Support - Bike Technicians
Mobile Technicians will provide technical support to riders en route by assisting with general bike repairs, loose chains, punctures etc. They will also work with outfitters at pit stops to manage repairs and the maintenance of bikes.

Specialty Support - Medical Volunteers
Medical professionals are strongly encouraged to volunteer for this hugely rewarding role and offer an essential service for the wellbeing of our walkers and riders. They will provide first-aid medical services to participants at pit stops and the finish line, as well as emergency services where necessary until local EMS/ Paramedics arrive on scene.

Specialty Support - Motorcycle Safety Marshalls
Motorcycle Marshalls works with the Road Dispatch staff and local law enforcement in delivering a safe and fun experience by conducting visual sweeps of the route and communicating any traffic management or participant issues.

Specialty Support - Yogi's
Calling for Yoga instructors to lead interested Participants in yoga and stretching at the Finish line of the event. Great opportunity to teach yoga moves to active riders and walkers who would like to stay limber and recover faster after their experience.

Specialty Support - Massage
Massage therapist will provide much appreciated healing hands to relieve participant’s tired and aching muscles at the Finish Line of the event.

Specialty Support - Podiatry
Podiatrists make for happy walkers and riders and will assist with treatments to aching feet.
